Rock River Rapids

Beat the Kansas heat in style at Rock River Rapid. This waterpark features several exciting tube and body water slides for children of all ages as well as a zero-depth playground pool. For the adults, there is a large lap pool with diving boards and drop slides included as well so kids can play and stay close by. The park’s lazy river wraps around the park and goes under a few caves with waterfalls. Float alone in a single tube or join a buddy in a double tube. Here you can buy a day pass or season pass to splash and slide your way to fun all summer long at Rock River Rapids!

Botanica, Wichita Gardens

Soak up the region’s horticulture at one of the country’s finest botanical gardens. Botanica features numerous different gardens all with unique, beautiful styles. One of the most popular attractions inside Botanica is the Butterfly House where visitors can walk through a gorgeous haven of butterflies and flowers. Some of the butterflies are brought in from as far as Florida to enjoy the garden as their own home. The Botanica offers tours and other educational programs or allows visitors to roam freely. Special events such as yoga or Tai Chi are hosted in the gardens, and patrons also have the ability to rent a space and host their own private event.

Sedgwick County Zoo

Take a trip to Sedgwick County Zoo and see the incredible wild animals brought to you locally just outside of Wichita! The zoo has many unique attractions to offer not commonly found at other zoos such as boat tours and Wild Encounters, which is described as “a behind the scenes experience” with the animals and zookeepers. Wild Encounters allows guests to meet the select animals up close and help feed some of them with the keepers. Sedgwick County Zoo also offers a free tram ride throughout the whole park.

Reset your stress levels and get in touch with nature at the Great Plains Nature Center. Enjoy paved hiking trails, bird watching, and discovery programs inside and outside of the facility.
